This post brought to you by the letters "P" & "O"

I can't poop. There, I've said it. Ever since the darn PIO shots started, it's progressively become more difficult. The retrieval and transfer have me bloated enough, and now I have all of this additional bloat. Surely, I can't be the only one, can I?

Apple juice, senokot, broccoli, spicy foods; you name it, I've tried it. Anyone have any suggestions out there, or do I just ride this out? Ugh.

Everything else seems to be going fine. Still feeling crampy on and off, but managing to get things done. The stress of the 2WW has been replaced by stress about my job. I found out on Thursday that I'm losing yet another client, and there may be one more that follows. This puts me back to a very minimal salary. Just for comparison, I was raking in the dough back in the fall with 8 clients - I am now down to 3. Scary and stressful. Trying to stay calm for the embryos, but I'm at my wits end with this job. Ugh. Figures when I finally get into the IVF thing, work goes to shit.

Well, a good night of drinking draft beer always does it for me... but I suppose that is a bad idea right now???

You have got me crying I'm laughing so hard! First of all, I love the sou.th pa.rk picture. Want to hear a kind of gross, too much info story? It might make you feel better.

Anyways, last Sat (a week or so post transfer) I too couldn't poop for a couple of days at least - darn progesterone. I had drank water, walked, fruits and veggies..whatever. Well finally I felt like I was going to do the big poop. Problem...I couldn't get it out - gross I know. Anyways long story short it took me two hours to have a bowel movement. I sat on the toilet, I tried walking around, I made my husband come talk to me. I was actually starting to get concerned the thing would never come out! I felt like a woman in labor for pete's sake! Finally when it did...holy cow...it was huge. Sorry I know this is gross. I said I felt like I had just given birth to a 7lb poop! My husband made some references to the sou.th pa.rk character you have a picture of, and he nickname that Mar.ch 29, 2008 will forever be known as the Day of the Great Poopie Escapade! I'm pathetic I know...but I can understand your "pain".

As a helper, I have found that continuing the lots of water, walking and fruits and veggies...I also have a glass of prune juice every other day (that stuff is nasty!), and my RE said it's okay to take over the counter colace which is a stool softner every now and then. I really think the last two is what has helped me.

Sorry so long...you have me laughing still, although at the time it feels like no laughing matter!

Hugs

Oh yeah...sorry about the job stuff. I hope things start turning around soon. As if we need something else to worry about. Hang in there...thinking of you!

Yup! Same thing happened to me. The nurse said that this can happen after anesthesia. That in combination with the PIO shots, and Voila, you've got some serious blockage. I got to prepare better this second time. Nobody tells you these important things ahead of time, do they? In fact, it should be highlighted in the protocol. Glad you finally got some relief!
