So, I've finally realized that work is not worth getting stressed about when you're 18 weeks pregnant. There are many more important things in life. This past week and a half have been hell...work wise. It's mid-year review time, so I have numerous presentations to put together for my clients. Also, my best co-worker...the one I count on for everything, is out for her honeymoon for 2 weeks, which leaves me in a lurch, and I have 3 clients each with a problem. When it rains, it pours.
I'm slowly getting through my to-do list and not overpromising anything (which I always do) ...and trying to stay as calm as possible. We had a nice little getaway last weekend, which helped significantly with my outlook.
Anywho, saw the OB on Wednesday...was so happy to hear the little one's heartbeat, which was nice and strong. My 20 week ultrasound will be on August 1st...I can't wait! We won't be finding out the sex, which will be difficult, but I think there are so few surprises in life..this is one that I want to have. We'll see if I can actually hold out though. I think....think..I've felt a few flutters here and there, but I'm not 100% sure. It could be gas...especially with my heartburn lately.
Speaking of, that's pretty much what I've been feeling lately. H&H...heartburn and headaches. Both are making me miserable - when I feel them. It also doesn't help that we're in the middle of a heatwave today. I just want to go out and breathe fresh air, without the mugginess.

I'm glad to hear that all is well with you and the baby! I hope the next two weeks fly by quickly for you. Your coworker returns AND you'll have another peek at the little one! I hope that you can hold out for your gender surprise!
Hey there sully - I'm glad you had a good OB appointment and like kym said...I hope the next two weeks go quickly. It's hard having to do the work of two, or three, or more people at work. And it's hard waiting for your big ultrasound as well. Even without finding out the gender, it's still really cool to see a up close thorough look, and the reassurance that they have all of their parts :-) I hope it's here in no time!
(whoops, that was me in the above post. I was signed in as my "alter blog ego")
I'm pretty sure I'm feeling movement too - although it took me a while to be able to tell the difference between that and gas.
I have the worst heartburn!! I hate it. I did discover however, that almonds are good for heartburn. If you nibble on a few of those during the day it seems to keep the heartburn to minimum. HOWEVER - if they are chocolate covered almonds - it works the opposite way.
You're a better woman than I am if you can not find out the sex at your next ultrasound. I've succumbed to the fact that I *need* to know asap...
Good to hear hon, you don't need to get yourself stressed out over anything at this point. Although you have great patience to not find out what the gender is - there's no way I could hold out that long!
I admire your self-control on not finding out the baby's sex!! Hope you can manage to keep your stress level down :)
Sorry work is so busy for you right now, but you're right, it's not important in the grand scheme of things.
Hope your H&H gets better!
Yes, this heat wave on the East coast is not fun. Sounds like even though you're busy at work, you're handling it with the right attitude.
Congrats on the great scan. You might be starting to feel the baby move. That's what it feels like at first. A strange fluttering.
